The Bowood House Christmas Extravaganza (near Calne. www.bowood.org/events) returns once again and, now in its fourth year, with an earlier scheduling as it’s to be held during the last week of November. The three-day event will play to the splendour of Robert Adam’s Orangery at Bowood House while also raising funds for the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.  Shoppers will have the chance to seek out upscale items from a wealth of gift stalls spreading out from the House Restaurant, through to the Sculpture Gallery and on into the Orangery, the surrounding Robert Adam interiors (dating back to the 1760s) and impressive collection of paintings, sculptures and tapestries will bring incomparable panache to Bowood House’s colonnaded ‘pop-up’ shopping arcade.

Opening the event, Wednesday 25 November will bring a particular celebratory flourish to the Bowood House Christmas Extravaganza with carols and cocktails greeting visitors. This ticketed preview event – running from 4-8pm and priced at £15 per person – will herald a heightened sense of occasion as Carol singers perform in the private family Chapel. Thursday’s opening times are from 10am-8pm while Friday’s are from 10am-3pm. Entrance prices on the day are £8 but if booked in advance will be £6 per person while advance gore bookings of four tickets are priced at £20. (www.bowood.org/event/bowood-house-christmas-extravaganza).

There will a wealth of gift stalls spreading out from the House Restaurant, through to the Sculpture Gallery and on into the Orangery, the surrounding Robert Adam interiors (dating back to the 1760s) and impressive collection of paintings, sculptures and tapestries will bring incomparable panache to Bowood House’s colonnaded ‘pop-up’ shopping arcade. There will also be a dedicated Food Hall (a restaurant to be included too) plus a line-up of ’Stories for Christmas’ book signing and sales sessions in The Library.
